Keeping the Momentum Going: Accountability in the Environmental Movement

The fights against the climate crisis and systemic racism are undeniably connected. Systemic racism created the circumstances that severely restrict the power of Black, Brown and Indigenous communities. As a result, these are the same communities taking the brunt of the climate crisis because institutions feel emboldened to use legal authority to ignore the demands of BIPOC communities.

Corporations Drain Water, Leaving Californians Out to Dry

With summer in full swing, eager Californians are going to local beaches, parks, lakes, rivers, and reservoirs to cool off. However, those who go to their local reservoir will have a harsh wake-up call when they see the dangerously low water levels, signaling the reality of the drought. Due to the climate crisis, California is in constant limbo when it comes to the drought. We’re either concerned about being in a drought or slipping into one, and for good reason.

Did You Know? You Can Get Involved in Re-drawing California's District lines.

In California, we have an independent, public process overseen by a 14-member Citizens Redistricting Commission (CRC), giving ordinary people more power and voice to shape their communities and their futures for the next 10 years. You have the opportunity to make your voice heard at the CRC’s public hearings across the state. Sign up here to get involved.

We believe that transformational change is necessary and only by transforming our political system will we create the opportunity to take bold action on climate change. We elect and cultivate environmental champions, turn election victories into policy wins, hold our lawmakers accountable, and build political power for change. We inspire hope and action and fight for equity and justice for all Californians. We are in the business of changing what’s possible.
